History

Avoriaz was conceived in 1962, by an agreement between the commune of Morzine and its then developmental group and which has since become “Pierre et Vacances”.
In 1967, the first buildings and hotels (The Dromonts) are officially opened.
The skiing area and the resort came from the ideas and the will of Jean Vuarnet, our local Olympic champion.
It was developed and realised from a XX st century design by the architects (Labro-Roques-Orzon) that urban and real G.Bremond chairman-founder of Pierre et Vacances.
In 1994 the resort was “completed”


Firsts buildings

It is now going to receive a new breath of modernism with re-investment in tourist infrastructures (indoor swimming pool, spa centre, covered carparks, new reception centre…)
